Confirm the routes out
We check your plan, how the code can leave, and how your MongoDB data can be exported today.
Coming soon. We’re launching with Base44 migrations first. Contact us and we’ll let you know when Emergent migrations open.
Emergent says you own what you build, and the stack underneath is familiar: React or Next.js, Python or Node APIs, and MongoDB. Moving it means handling code, data, secrets and sign-in as separate jobs, then proving the app starts outside Emergent.
Saving to GitHub is on Standard plans and above. On any plan, you can browse and copy files from the code view. Emergent says there’s no download button.
The route to your data is the part to check first, because it decides how the rest of the migration gets planned.
One help page says you can export with mongodump or Compass at any time, after allowlisting IPs if needed. Its FAQ says production export isn’t currently self-serve and the managed cluster rejects external connections. We work out the current route for your app.
Emergent keeps routine production backups for platform resilience, and says they aren’t a self-serve restore service. Before any move, we make sure you have your own copy of the data.
Emergent notes that its Database Manager edits live data with no undo, and that deleting a project permanently removes the code and database. Export first, and keep the original until the new app has proved itself.
This is how we expect a move to run once we support this platform. Your current app keeps running until the new one is proven.

The code goes into a repository you control. We list the secrets, sign-in, AI keys and storage it needs, and set them up on your side.
A new export is restored to the destination database and verified, including any object and file storage.
We deploy to your chosen host, verify the core workflows, then plan the final data copy and domain change.
Save to GitHub needs the Standard plan or above. Lower plans can still copy files from the code view, which is slower and more error-prone for a large project. We’ll tell you what makes sense for yours.
It’s an option worth weighing. Emergent offers Pro users with a published app a move to a MongoDB Atlas cluster they own, on a dedicated M10 cluster or higher. That gets your data into your own account, but going back requires contacting support, so it’s a decision to make deliberately.
Emergent builds mobile apps with React Native and Expo. Mobile migration is quoted separately from the $199 web migration. See mobile app migration.

Vendor documentation checked November 2026. Plans and export paths can change, and every app gets its own review. AppExit is not affiliated with Emergent. Brand names belong to their owners.
